Types of State-Owned Enterprises in Chile
The business activity of the State can be carried out through in two ways, public companies created by law and state entities, which have the following common foundations:
Authorization by Law with qualified quorum.
Governed by rules of common law.
Under the supervision of CMF and CGR.
Report to Congress according to requirements.
Approval and budget control by Dipres (Budget Office).
Own assets. Autonomous.
Constitute one of the two ways in which the State can carry out business activity, which have the following distinguishing foundations from State enterprises:
- Created by Law.
- The law establishes its statute.
- Legal personality of public law.
- Subject to the supervision of the Council for Transparency.
